DESCRIPTION

An experimental shortfilm telling the story of a lonely wanderer from the mountains who struggles for survival. His journey is based upon Joseph Campell’s ‘The Hero’s Journey’. The archetypal journey of the hero in myths and stories.

A hero sets out, is put to the test, fulfills challenging assignments and returns home to celebrate his victories. You see these archetypal elements in many films, books and series, but also in our own lives. Campbell offers inspiration, life lessons and insights into values from myths, religions and cultures around the world.

Its visual style is inspired by the French comic ‘Le rapport de Brodeck’ by Phillipe Claudel famous for its black and white art. A style that makes the earthly and mythological elements of the Hero’s Journey come alive.
